
Jake Lappi is the Instructional Superintendent of Cluster 2. Mr. Lappi began his career in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he taught 9th grade English in self contained and inclusive special education classrooms. He later became the resident principal and assistant principal in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where he consistently led teams to achieve double digit gains in student achievement. Mr. Lappi came to DC where he served as a charter school principal, then became the principal of J.C. Nalle Elementary School in 2018. Under his leadership, J.C. Nalle achieved the highest year-over-year reading growth among 91porn elementary schools during the pandemic and significantly improved math performance, attendance, and early childhood education quality. Most recently, Mr. Lappi served as the Deputy Chief of School Leader Recruitment, Selection, and Development at DC Public Schools, where he oversaw strategic initiatives to strengthen the school leadership pipeline. He holds an Executive Master’s in Leadership from Georgetown University and a BA in English from Clemson University, graduating cum laude.
